A Profile of Our School

Founded in 1991, Lighthouse Christian Academy serves families in the Bloomington and surrounding communities. LCA currently resides on 10 acres of beautiful land, one mile east of Highway 37 on That Road. Our students in kindergarten through grade 12 have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of educational experiences; academic, arts and athletic related. Every area of influence experienced by the student is guided by a biblical approach. The Lord has blessed LCA with a faculty and staff that are committed to Christian education. LCA is a Christian school that endeavors to prepare each student to become Christ-like, and to impact culture on His terms. Please call the school office for more information or visit our website.

LCA Vision Statement

LCA is an interdenominational school that glorifies God in supporting Christian families by providing a biblically integrated and academically excellent education. An LCA student will be equipped to impact his world by exhibiting strong, Christian character including service to God and to others, and by demonstrating academic achievement, Biblical leadership, and the ability to articulate and defend a Christian world view in all areas of life.

LCA Mission Statement

The mission of Lighthouse Christian Academy is to partner with Christian parents to provide a biblically integrated and academically excellent education to develop each child’s Christ-like character, intellectual ability and physical health to the glory of God.

Church Representation

The faculty, staff and families of our student body presently represent over 37 churches throughout the surrounding communities. Through our Vision and Mission statement and the Statement of Faith, LCA seeks to Honor the Lord, and affirm the value of each individual in love (Mark 12:30-31).

The Arts

LCA has a well developed fine arts program. Art classes are offered to all students. Age and ability level choir, orchestra, band, and other various groups are a part of the curriculum for all grades. Several dramas open for public performances are also part of the Junior and Senior High School experience.

Athletics

Recognizing the impact of the athletic experience in a student’s life, LCA offers a complete program of athletics beginning in elementary and culminating in a full range of varsity sports in our high school.

Accreditation and Association

Lighthouse Christian Academy is fully accredited by the State of Indiana, State Board of Education through Freeway Status. LCA is also a member of the Association of Christian School International.

Standardized Testing

All students, grades 1-10, participate in the Stanford Achievement Test (Stanford 10). Grades 3-8 also take the ISTEP test. Our 10th and 11th grades take the PSAT/NMSQT and juniors and seniors take the SAT and ACT for college entrance. Overall testing results for the school exceed State and national averages. Please contact the school office for testing summaries.

Nondiscriminatory Policy

LCA admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded and made available to all students. LCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational and admissions policies, tuition assistance programs, athletic and other school administered programs.
